Finding a place to watch the USA Mexico game live on Wednesday was quite an adventure. Even nailing it down a day early wasn't good enough! The internet SAID NBC international was unlocking the game on Direct TV and DISH, all in the hopes of creating a bigger following for their broadcast games. Bob at Akeley Municipal Liquor Store assured me he'd play the game on his DISH satellite if I told him the time and channel. Roberto was delighted. So happy in fact, that he didn't go back to the cities to watch it. Dear Bob has cable, not DISH! His waitress called him to come in and find the channel, but he was at the doc's. A patron then called to inform him that he has cable, "Oh, it's at home I have DISH!" Offered us a complimentary drink, which we declined in interest of time, and called around for an establishment with DISH or Direct. Zorba's north of Dorset couldn't get 410, but The Stomping Grounds, north of Akeley had Direct and we'd like their food! So about 10 minutes into the game we began our quest which took us to 5 local bars before we struck it rich at Lucky Moose, south of Walker. I was touched that so many people who didn't know us from Adam, tried so hard to help. They really worked those remotes and phones. As we finally sat down at half time the score was tied 1:1, just like starting over! The Moose Drool beer and french fries were yummy, too. Thank you Cass County!
